Unlike English, where we distinguish "to be" words (Is, Am, & Are) depending on who or what we are talking about, (EX. he is, we are, I am), in Trigedasleng, you distinguish by what comes AFTER the "to be" word. If your talking about an adjective, for example, saying I am smart, you would use "ste", because ste goes with adjectives and verbs. If you say I am him, you use "laik" because laik goes with nouns. Lastly, "bilaik" can be treated like the word "be" itself. If I say "Who are you?", in English, you could also technically say "Who you be?", and in Trigedasleng, that would be "Chon you bilaik". I didn't add these types of words in because it's important to distinguish them.
