Want to create some ć̵̯ȯ̸̞r̵͖̅r̴̬̽ư̴͈p̶̜̃t̸̮͠ë̴̤́d̷̟͋ ̸̜̈́ť̴͍ĕ̸̠x̸͚̑t̶̙̀? Well, you've come to the right place. This is a text corrupter. It allows you to transform your normal text into a corrupted version with all sort of distortions and markings, and then allows you to copy and paste that text into your social media posts/bios/etc.
Wondering how it works? Let me explain. You see, Unicode has this thing called a "combining character". These are characters that, when placed after a normal character get "added to" that original character, modifying it in some way. These weird markings were added to support languages that have characters with "accent marks" on them. For example, compare these two characters: eé. The latter "accented" version is needed in some languages, and so Unicode needed to include the ability to construct these sorts of characters. The alternative was to encode a separate character for every possible combination of valid diacritic-ed characters, which would have been waaay to many characters.
And here's the cool part: Unicode allows you to add as many of these "diacritics" (and other modifiers) to a character as you like. So that's how we do it: We just keep adding all sorts modifiers over the top of one another, until it looks all corrupted and weird. People call it "hacked text", and in a sense, that's sort of true because it exploits a sort of "vulnerability" of the Unicode spec. I'm not sure if they predicted that people would be making text corrupters and spreading this weird stuff all over the internet, but, in any case, here we are!
