The fictional language of Huttese is widely known for being underdeveloped, with its canonical subtitled translations often being loose and varied. Many words recur frequently, and others are seemingly used for different purposes across various contexts.
As I attempted to write content in Huttese, I quickly found myself improvising due to these inconsistencies. While I wanted many words to sound alien, I also aimed for certain terms to clearly convey their intended meanings. After spending too much time managing a word document, I decided to compile all the words I'd collected into a translator. I hoped this tool could assist not only me but also others who don't mind diverging slightly from 100% canonical Huttese.
In this interpretation, which I've named the Poglichii accent, I have examined all available canon and legends Huttese words and phrases I could find. By analyzing the translations, I sought to retain as many original words as possible. When a better word already existed, I reinterpreted sentences to determine plausible meanings. To fill in gaps, I created new words that fit within the Huttese framework, drawing inspiration from English, Spanish, Japanese, and Scandinavian languages.
To give this version of Huttese a sense of authenticity, I've dubbed it the Poglichii accent. It could represent a trader's dialect spoken in certain areas of the Outer Rim or perhaps an older, more archaic form of Huttese. Either way, I hope this version proves useful to others as well!
