This translator (more accurately transliterator), converts Japanese Kana into Rōmaji, which means how it is pronounced.
Notes:
- This won't translate Japanese, rather transliterate it.
- This won't transliterate Chinese, Chữ Nôm Vietnamese, Korean, or any other language spoken in Asia.
- This won't transliterate Kanji unless that Kanji by itself only has one pronunciation according to Unicode.
- This translator is a work in progress, so if you type any Japanese and it doesn't fully transliterate, it should get added in the next update.
Transliterator Notes (These will get updates, too):
- This won't properly transliterate things like っづ* because it has more than one transliteration. If you're wondering what っづ is, it is ddzu or zzu.
- If you transliterate something such as ぎょお, ぎょう, ああ, etc., they'll appear as gyoo, gyou, aa, however, they are actually gyō, gyō, and ā. This is because aa, ii, uu, ee, ou, and oo become ā, ī, ū, ē, ō and ō.
If you have any questions about this transliterator, feel free to ask them in the box that says "Suggestions to improve this translator?".
