Same as most other languages.
-"Ennea-" prefix, meaning nine, changed its meaning to ninety.
=================ONE SOUND ONE LETTER CHANGES====================
-Q is pronounced as "qu"
-C is pronounced as "ch"
(Before official scholars changed spelling to 1 sound per letter, C & Q served the same functions as in modern English.)
-Most alone C's were replaced to K's. U's after Q's disappeared. "CH's" were changed to C's. All these changes were done to simplify the language into individual sounds. X makes the X sound in English words like "eXcept and aXe"
-Most words ending in "A" or "O" are sinple nouns (not gendered) & most words ending with "I" represents a person or a group of people.
-In words spelt the same way as in English, pronounce all letters. For example, in the word vibrate, you need to pronounce the E at the end.
===================================================================
LATEST CHANGE: Since people kept using the old spellings, official scholars decided that all words that were changed will return to how they were before the "one letter one sound" transition (except for 'ph'). They also agreed that any new words (words not derived from other words or affixes) will apply to "one letter one sound."
