Corrupted Text Generator

This generator lets you convert to and from ć̵̯ȯ̸̞r̵͖̅r̴̬̽ư̴͈p̶̜̃t̸̮͠ë̴̤́d̷̟͋ ̸̜̈́ť̴͍ĕ̸̠x̸͚̑t̶̙̀ (that is, corrupted text), and it allows you to choose how strong the corruption should be. Just drag the slider higher or lower as you like.
Corrupted text, like that produced and decoded by this generator, is a result of a Unicode "hack" that takes advantage of the "diacritics" feature, where modifier characters can be added to an existing character. There are various rules about how these modifications occur, but as it turns out, there aren't any rules on how many modifications can be applied. This, of course, was an open invitation for people to mess with the feature by adding hundreds of modifications to make it look all distorted and corrupted - as if they've somehow "hacked" the text.
This little trick spread quickly on forums and comment sections, and eventually people wrote computer programs to automatically convert normal text into this "corrupted" form. Now everyone can be l33t hackers!
This text corrupter has a "slider" that lets your adjust how "messsed up" your text should be. If you make it too high, it'll get so corrupted that just viewing the text (or trying to copy and paste it) may start to lag your computer!

Copy and Pasting Corrupted Text

In most cases you should have no trouble copying and pasting this glitchy text into forums, comment sections, and the like. But there are some exceptions. You see, the forum and social network owners have noticed the explosion of "hacked text" on their platforms, and some of them have taken steps to "strip away" the weird text markings so that when you actually click "submit", you end up with just normal text being posted. That's a shame, but it is probably fair. Especially because on some websites the distorted text can go "over" other elements on the page and make it hard to read. It can also cause some peoples' computers to slow down because if there are thousands of little marks, they take a while to render.
How do you know whether your social media platform of choice supports corrupted text? Well, you'll have to try it out! Things are changing all the time, so it's best to just give it a shot and see how it goes :)

This generator uses a library built by combatwombat - all credit for hacking unicode's rules goes to them!
