This is a simple generator which converts normal text letters into Unicode block letters which you can copy and paste into Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, Reddit, Youtube and other social media posts and statuses, and most places on the internet where you can submit text.
People often mistakenly call this text font "ASCII block letters", but in reality the letters are Unicode symbols. ASCII only refers to the original 256 characters that English software had. Unicode extended the ASCII standard with thousands more symbols from all sorts of languages and domains (including many symbols that are commonly used in Mathematical notation, for example). The Unicode standard even includes emojis now, and there's an
emoji translator which you can use to generate them.
Just like how ASCII characters can be copy and pasted to most places on the internet, so can Unicode characters. This is why you're able to copy and paste the block letters that are generated. It's just text!
Here's an example of generating block text using this site:
> I want this text to be in squares.
After we generate the square characters using the translator:
> π
Έ ππ
°π
½π ππ
·π
Έπ ππ
΄ππ ππ
Ύ π
±π
΄ π
Έπ
½ ππππ
°ππ
΄π.
If there's any way that this block text converter can be improved, please leave a comment below and I'll do my best to implement it. Thanks!
